Communicators constantly face various challenges, some of which we are more prepared for than others; sometimes it seems that dealing with unpleasant journalistic questions is the least of our worries.
Amid all the external pressures, many communicators also face internal challenges. I’m not referring to issues with internal communication, but rather the struggle to position oneself as a communicator within the organization—to secure a seat at the decision-making table, ensuring that communication is not an afterthought only considered when something goes wrong or when there’s a need to "fix" a media story.
I’m not pessimistic; I believe that by questioning our roles and addressing challenges, we can grow and progress. I am confident that PRSS, through its various activities—such as the SKOJ conference, the PR2 magazine, various events and roundtables, and book publications—provides a space where we can discuss our profession, share best practices, and learn from tough experiences.
I believe I speak on behalf of the entire team, who in various ways (voluntarily!) assist in carrying out PRSS activities, when I invite you, dear reader (and I hope you don’t mind the informal address), to actively engage with PRSS. By doing so, you contribute not only to your growth as a communicator but also to the advancement of our profession.
